Epiphone PR-150 Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Sunburst

Epiphone PR-150 Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Sunburst Review

I read a lot of reviews on Musician's Friend before I chose this "cheap" guitar over other cheap guitars. I believe the reviews were right - this is a really great sounding guitar with a good appearance. And it costs very little!

Sure the tuning keys are a bit imprecise, but they're good enough to effectively tune the guitar. I'm a beginner at guitar, but I play other instruments (and I have a well developed ear). This guitar has a good round sound; the only minor complaint I have is the 4th string sounds a little dead compared to the rest. I'm not sure if it's the string itself or the acoustics of the guitar. Still, it's very minor and I'm very sensitive to sound quality (so it's probably within tolerances for average guitars).

I love the appearance of this Vintage Sunburst. I think it has much more character than the natural wood version.

In all, I doubt anyone can find a measurably better acoustic guitar for less than this.

Epiphone PR-150 Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Sunburst Overview

For such an easy-to-afford guitar, the Epiphone PR-150 is a standout - a perfect instrument to get started on. It is a dreadnought and features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. The PR-150 sounds great and this Epiphone's sunburst finish gives it the look of a far more expensive guitar.
