AXL Badwater SRO Electric Guitar, Brown

AXL Badwater SRO Electric Guitar, Brown Review

I just picked up one of these Guitars the other day on a hunch. And so far for the cost (Under 200.00 shipped to my front door) I am really blown away. So for all you folks who want to try the relic style with out spending big bucks - This Guitar might be your ticket.
I was truly impressed with this guitar right out of the box. It has a narrow neck but the frets feel great - no sharp edges to deal with.
From what I have seen every Axl Badwater has its own personel relicing - No two are exactly alike.
The EMG Designed Pickups really shine! Two singles and a Humbucker in the bridge - and these guys are super Quiet. And to me very Strat sounding. 5 way switch,1 vol and two tone.
This guitar is alder and very light with alot of acoustic tone.
The guitar is reliced very well - it appears well used and looks like it has been lying in someones closet for the last thirty years.
Though allot of folks are comparing these to a Strat to me its quite diffrent- other than the double cutaway. The body is really closer to a Duo or Mustang with its narrow waist.
All the hardware has a antiqued bronze finish that looks really good and unique. Everything on this guitar looks old with the eception of the 3 EMG's.
Now keep in mind I have based my review on the affordability of this great little guitar. and the unique coolness.
These days I spend allot of time seeking out low cost winners. And this is surely one of them. I have a spent a lot of money on high end guitars but no longer.
The badwater - If your into Heavy Relic guitars they are well worth a look!

AXL Badwater SRO Electric Guitar, Brown Feature

  • Distressed Body & Headstock
  • Antiqued / Anodized Hardware
  • EMG-Designed Pickups: 2 Single Coil & 1 Humbucker
  • Solid Alder Body w/ Original Design
  • Rosewood Fretboard

AXL Badwater SRO Electric Guitar, Brown Overview

With a distressed body and antiqued hardware, Badwater Series guitars look and feel of ancient artifacts. These shocking guitars are equipped with EMG-designed pickups for hard rocking tones and clean delivery. Even the headstock and backplate have vintage distressing. No area was spared from the destruction. Badwater guitars have a one-of-a-kind style and excellent playability. The brown finish model has the look of a museum-quality guitar stored away for decades. The Badwater Series has received Guitar World's December 2007 Gold Award for Overall Value.

Oscar Schmidt by Washburn OG312CE Full Size 12 String Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar Combo with AB Stand and Strings - Tobacco Sunburst

Oscar Schmidt by Washburn OG312CE Full Size 12 String Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar Combo with AB Stand and Strings - Tobacco Sunburst Review

The guitar was shipped within a day of me ordering it and it got here only 5 days later including a Sunday:) I was very happy to get it fast! As soon as I picked it up I fell in love with it. It plays easier than my 6-string.

I am still trying to figure out the built-in tuner... I just have this complete inability to tune a guitar easily. Now I don't know if this was just my own idiocy (probably was) but I already snapped the E string second from the bottom trying to tune it. Got a nice sore on my hand too. I feel terrible for being so careless! So I recommend buying an extra set of strings while you are at it! I don't think it was the quality of the strings, I think it was just me...

Once I get it stringed and tuned all the way you won't be able to pry it from my arms!!! :)

Oscar Schmidt by Washburn OG312CE Full Size 12 String Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar Combo with AB Stand and Strings - Tobacco Sunburst Feature

  • Handcrafted quality
  • Dreadnought cutaway style
  • Active EQ preamp with built in tuner
  • Rosewood fingerboard & bridge

Oscar Schmidt by Washburn OG312CE Full Size 12 String Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar Combo with AB Stand and Strings - Tobacco Sunburst Overview

The OG312CE is a 12 string dreadnought with a cutaway for easy upper fret access. Its great action makes it one of the easiest playing 12 strings around. The WT92 Preamp/Tuner brings out the full lush & chiming sound of all 12 strings through any PA or amp.

B.C. Rich Outlaw PX3T, Onyx

B.C. Rich Outlaw PX3T, Onyx Review

B.C. Rich Outlaw PX3T, Onyx Feature

  • 2 end-of-body strap buttons for a custom strap fit and instrument positioning
  • Finish: painted glossy

B.C. Rich Outlaw PX3T, Onyx Overview

The B.C. Rich Outlaw PX3T electric guitar features a bolt-on maple neck, 2 Rockfield Mafia humbucker pickups with coil tap, a basswood body with a deeply arched top, a rosewood fretboard with 24 jumbo frets, hollowpoint circle inlay, a licensed Floyd Rose tremolo and two end of body strap buttons for a custom strap fit and instrument positioning.Bolt-on Construction The Outlaw PX3T guitar uses a classic Bolt-on construction. The maple neck is bolted on with 4 screws to the body. This construction offers some added flexibility in the instrument's adjustment and provides the option to change the neck in the future.Rockfield Pickups - Mafia Bridge Pickups The use of a ceramic magnet gives any pickup extra power due to the increased magnetic field they provide. This feature makes the Mafia pickups produce a hotter and thicker tone that's really aggressive and full. The increased low end, thick mids and in your face highs is what rock and roll was built on! Balanced and full of sustain this pickup is a great representation of its namesake, a truly intimidating killer.Neck Pickups The neck version of the Mafia pickup is just as full sounding as the bridge position, without taking away from what has already been accomplished. Very minor modifications to the overall design and design concept of this pickup gives it punchy, bold tone with the same aggressive characteristics as the bridge version. A tad brighter with a little less output really takes this pickup into the smooth and warm realm of the tonal spectrum. All while maintaining that balanced bite and in your face aggressive tone that the mafia is known for!Deep Arched Top A deep arched top is used on the B.C. Rich Outlaw PX3T guitar. The deep arch is achieved by increasing the body center by approximately 5/8" and then gently sloping the arch toward the side of the instrument and leveling out just as the slope reaches the edge. A deep arch top when applied to a B.C. Rich shape gives an air of elegance and sophisticat

Epiphone LP Custom Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony

Epiphone LP Custom Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony Review

I love it, can't get enough of it. I have it hooked up to a line6 and the FVB Express board, I don't think there is a sound that it can't make. It plays easy, I'm used to acoustics Ovation mostly and I love the way they play. When I tried this the first time it was like I had to keep looking to be sure it was my hands that were playing it. Very happy I got it.
One complaint when it came it was lose in the box it fell out of the Epiphone box into the shipping box and strings were broken. They sent me a new set but come on tape the box shut. either they were setting it up and forgot to pack it back right or someone was using it. Luckily their was no other damage I could see and not other finger prints. It took me a while to calm down but once I did I sunk deep into this guitar. You may lose your wife or girlfriend, fair warning I keep getting up in the middle of the night to try something I dreamed up.

Epiphone LP Custom Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony Feature

Epiphone Ltd. Ed. 1966 G-400, Heritage Cherry Feature

  • Double-cutaway solid mahogany body
  • Slim-taper set mahogany neck
  • Rosewood fretboard, 22 frets
  • Alnico Classic Plus bridge humbucker

Epiphone Ltd. Ed. 1966 G-400, Heritage Cherry Overview

The Epiphone Limited Edition 1966 G-400 Electric Guitar is a Gibson-authorized version of their great '66 SG with a solid mahogany body and slim-taper set mahogany neck. Some subtle-yet-significant differences make this one special. Instead of the small, lower horn-only pickguard, it has the larger pickguard so there aren't any pickup mounting rings around the high-output Alnico Classic humbuckers (the '66 SG had P-90 pickups). Separate volume and tone controls for each of the pickups give you complete control of your sound. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide more sustain and string changing easier. The deep double-cutaway lets you reach all 22 frets with ease.

Epiphone Lefty Sheraton II Archtop Electric Guitar, Vintage Sunburst

Epiphone Lefty Sheraton II Archtop Electric Guitar, Vintage Sunburst Review

NOTE: I purchased this product through a local guitar shop, so this review in no way speaks of the quality of delivery or customer service you would obtain ordering through this website.

A few weeks ago, I sold my Fender American Deluxe Strat. I wanted to replace it with something a little newer with a similar style. My other guitar is an Epiphone LP Standard with a gritty tone and great sustain that spends most of its time in Drop-C, so this guitar will mainly stay in standard/Drop-D tuning. My musical styles range from contemporary Christian/worship (Hillsong, Tomlin, etc.) to hardcore/metal (A7X, Atreyu, As I Lay Dying), so my guitars need to be diverse in their playstyles.

When I first got the guitar home, I noticed it was much taller than my Epi Standard. I had read online that it was heavy compared with guitars of a similar composition, but I'm used to solid-bodies, so it was actually very light despite the greater length. Reviews I've read say that it would be heavy to hold for a performance, but I disagree. If you're used to a solid body, it's very light and comfortable.

But I know that what everyone cares about is playability, so here goes. The first thing I noticed is the clean, beautiful tone that it produces even when unplugged. It's not a replacement for an acoustic by any means, but it's definitely worthy of being played unplugged for practice. Amped with clean settings, it has a very warm tone and produces a stronger output than either my Epi or the Fender with Noiseless pickups.

As for distorted/metal settings, it still has a strong, thick tone, thanks largely to the dual humbuckers which I find to be entirely adequate for all playstyles. It doesn't have great resonance and pinch harmonics are very finicky (read: difficult) with it, but it has good sustain for a semi-hollow body, and is definitely playable for a heavier style of music.

Overall, I have no complaints about this guitar. The strap attaches on the back of the body, which I'm not used to, but is comfortable after a minute or two of adjusting. For the money, this guitar absolutely shines, and for lefties, it's one of the few well-priced, well-equipped machines out there.

Rogue RA-100D Dreadnought Guitar, Natural

Rogue RA-100D Dreadnought Guitar, Natural Review

This is my first acoustic guitar. I was playing on a Greg Bennett guitar that belonged to someone else before purchasing this. Initially, the Rogue could not come close to the G.B. But after some modification, it is nearly as good as that 0 guitar. Out of the box, I was disappointed. The "Martin" strings are horrible, as someone else stated. The action (distance you have to press string down to touch fretboard) is very high and will make any newbie's fingers hurt quite badly in the beginning. I found the fit and finish to be satisfactory; had some blemish on the top, and not perfect looking by any means but for my purposes it is fine. Not bad looking at all.

1) Sanded down the saddle about 3/16", and used needle filers to get the nut down for each string. After that, the action was PERFECT!! But be careful doing this, go a bit at a time, and recheck. Both of these things can be done w/ strings still on, just loosen them up a lot. There are online tutorials regarding this: "adjusting action, nut, saddle, etc."

2) Changed strings to Martin SP light acoustics. Made a very big improvement. Don't forget to rub in a generous amount of olive oil on the fretboard wood when you change the strings. Combined w/ a much lower action, this guitar is a joy to play and sounds very good for the price. I don't plan on buying another acoustic at this time. I have been playing for 2 months every day and it stays in tune well, maybe needs tuning after an hour or so but won't be off by much, if any.

Overall, very good guitar if you just put a bit of work into it. And the value can't be beat. I gave 4 stars just b/c I had to modify the nut and saddle to enhance playability. It took me about 2 hours of carefully working as to avoid over filing the nut or saddle. But for the price, the work is worth it. And you learn a little more about guitar mechanics.

Rogue RA-100D Dreadnought Guitar, Natural Feature

  • Genuine spruce top
  • Die-cast tuning machines
  • Nato neck. It's easy to tune
  • 25-1/2" scale length
  • Bound rosewood fretboard

Rogue RA-100D Dreadnought Guitar, Natural Overview

A marvel for its price, the traditional dreadnought design makes for one very playable guitar with a great, full tone. Perfect for strumming or fingerpicking any style of music, it's no wonder this guitar has been so highly rated by our customers. Features a genuine spruce top, die-cast tuning machines, 25-1/2" scale nato neck, and bound rosewood fretboard. It's easy to tune and stays that way. Rich, resonant sound and excellent projection and intonation make this a first guitar to be proud of. It's also great for camping or as a second guitar. Each guitar ships with genuine Martin strings for a quality sound right out of the box.

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Worn Brown Satin

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Worn Brown Satin Review

Let me first say I have played for many years, with a band that mostly records, but plays out a handful of times per year. My main gear is a marshall tube combo, some boutique pedals and an early 80's american tele.

I was intrigued by the gibson les paul sound so after along search I bought a used 01 pewter studio. I was drawn to its heft and playability. Something was not right, after months of playing it I realized the pickups were hotter than I wanted. Before I bought this pewter studio, I had tried out a lot of guitars, and played a few worn mahogany les pauls, but I was always repelled by the lack of finish, the frets were rough, the neck was sticky, it was generally not-player friendly like the nicer rare studio was...

but I happened to be in guitar center trading in an amp i din't want when I played a used vintage worn brown les paul and fell in love; the pickups are warm as hell, the neck was shiny and smooth, the frets were perfect; I realized all it needed before was breaking in! I love the guitar, especially the neck pick up, which can be very bassy if you are not careful, but has a sweet singing tone for solos- and is worth the price.

If you want a nice les paul, and you don't want to fork over 2k plus for a standard or goldtop with p90s, skip the studio and go for one of these worn models- they use essentially the same materials, and all the savings come from wood choices associated with cosmetics and extensive finishing.

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Worn Brown Satin Feature

  • Traditional Rounded Neck Profile
  • 490R and 498T Pickups
  • Traditional Mahogany Back and Maple Top
  • 22-Fret Rosewood or Ebony Fingerboards
  • Chambered Body for Perfect Tone Balance and Weight

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Worn Brown Satin Overview

Introduced nearly 25 years ago as a guitar for the studio musician, the Les Paul Studio has become one of the most desired Les Pauls for its tremendous harmonic and sonic capacities, coveted by musicians from all genres of music.

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Worn Brown Satin Specifications

Some guitar players like the look and feel of a shiny, brand new guitar. Others, however, prefer the look and feel of a timeworn instrument--a guitar, without the sheen, that looks a little used, and has a smooth, worn look to it. For these players, there is the Les Paul Studio Faded from Gibson USA, which lets you see and feel the wood grain's natural beauty. And just like its brother, the Les Paul Studio, the Les Paul Studio Faded offers up breathtaking Les Paul performance in a modern, no-frills package that's sure to please even the most discriminating players.

Pure Les Paul Swagger in a Modern, No-Nonsense Package.

Fast & Comfortable Rounded Neck Profile
Gibson's traditional rounded neck profile, which graces the neck of each Les Paul Studio Faded, is a thicker, rounder profile, emulating the neck shapes of the iconic Les Paul Standards of the late 1950s. Each neck is machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. But once the fingerboard gets glued on, the rest--including the final sanding--is done by hand. That means each neck ends up with ever-so-subtle differences that make each one as exceptional--and unique--as the next.

A thicker, rounder neck profile emulates the neck shapes of the iconic Les Paul Standards of the late 1950s.

Gibson Burstbucker pickups and a Tune-O-Matic bridge.

Gibson's Burstbucker Pro Pickups
Gibson's drive to recapture the magic of the original "Patent Applied For" humbucker pickups of the 1950s culminated with the introduction of the Burstbucker line in the early 1990s. Those Burstbuckers--Types 1, 2, and 3--successfully captured the subtle variations of true, classic humbucker tone with historically "unmatched" bobbin windings and Alnico II magnets. In 2002, Gibson followed up this innovative accomplishment with yet another breakthrough in pickup design--the Burstbucker Pro, designed specifically for the new Les Paul Standards. The Burstbucker Pro features an Alnico V magnet (instead of the Alnico II), which offers slightly higher output and allows preamps to be driven a little harder to achieve a more natural break-up. Like all Burstbuckers, the Burstbucker Pro has asymmetrical coils--true to the original PAFs--which supply a more open sound. The Burstbucker Pro Neck is wound slightly less than the original PAFs, while the Burstbucker Pro Bridge is slightly overwound for increased output. The Burstbucker Pro pickups are also wax potted to allow loud volume pressures with minimal feedback. As with all Gibson pickups, every part is precisely manufactured at Gibson USA in Nashville, Tennessee, insuring tight, seamless fittings, and superior workmanship.

22-Fret Rosewood Fingerboard
Rosewood fingerboards and trapezoid inlays have been a mainstay feature on Les Pauls ever since the model's introduction in the 1950s, and the fingerboards on Gibson's Les Paul Studio Faded are no different. They are constructed from the highest grade rosewood on the planet. Each piece of wood is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled wood experts before it enter the factories to be fitted onto the necks. The resilience of this dense and durable wood makes these fingerboards extremely balanced and stable, and gives each chord and note unparalleled clarity and bite. Additionally, the 12-inch radius of the fingerboard provides smooth note bending capabilities and eliminates "dead" or "choked out" notes. The traditional trapezoid inlays are made of figured acrylic, and offer a classic "pearl" look. They are inserted into the fingerboard using a process that eliminates gaps and doesn't require the use of fillers.

Mahogany Back and Top
There isn't anything more critical than the matching of the Les Paul's mahogany back with its mahogany cap, as well as the regimen involved in selecting the right wood and the formula to dry it out. First, the wood is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled wood experts before it enters the Gibson factories. Inside the Gibson factories, humidity is maintained at 45 percent, and the temperature at 70 degrees. This ensures that the wood is dried to a level of "equilibrium," where the moisture content does not change during the manufacturing process. This guarantees tight-fitting joints and no expansion, and controls the shrinkage and warping of the wood, in addition to reducing the weight. It also improves the wood's machinability and finishing properties, and adherence to glue. Consistent moisture content means that a Gibson guitar will respond evenly to temperature and humidity changes long after it leaves the factory.

Chambered Body
There's something about playing a guitar with perfect tone, balance, and weight. One of the ways the expert craftsmen at Gibson USA achieve this equilibrium is by carving carefully mapped-out chambers in the Les Paul's solid mahogany back using a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) router before the mahogany top is glued on. The positioning of the routes was established after careful examination of the resonant characteristics of the Les Paul. Gibson approached this process with the awareness that every change to the formula would have repercussions on the instrument's sound. So, in addition to relieving the stress on a player's back and shoulder, these lighter Gibson guitars also enhance the tone palette in a manner unique only to these guitars. The results are comfortable, lightweight guitars that are acoustically louder, with increased sustain and resonance.

Epiphone Prophecy Futura Custom FX (Floyd, EMG-81/85 Pickups)

Epiphone Prophecy Futura Custom FX (Floyd, EMG-81/85 Pickups) Review

I'll be honest. I don't think this guitar is for everyone. Other than receiving the actual guitar in a mess (de-tuned, very very very low action, ridiculous unplayable buzzing and offset bridge etc, etc....don't worry... did not buy it from this particular seller XD), After i got it fixed, it played excellent. I can't judge it too harshly because i've been playing a jackson rr-3 for 2 years, and the floyd rose on that particular model of guitar is completely flush with the body, and i know most floyds are not, but rather raised, above the body. Also, the pick-ups are a bit too close together for my liking, and i have a really hard time getting harmonics out of the g-string, but that's just my experience, and i would say 'because of that' but i really don't know if that's the cause. And of course it's about twice the weight of an rr3 so you get a bit sore after a while, but i can't complain about that. Other than that, it has a nice fast neck, reasonably slim, plays nice, but pick-ups seem a bit over-responsive.

Silvertone Rockit 21 Guitar Package, Wine Red

Silvertone Rockit 21 Guitar Package, Wine Red Review

I picked up one of these at a garage sale for . I replaced a broken pickup selector switch (.00), installed a new set of strings, adjusted the action, intonation, and pickups. It rocks! I'd buy a brand new one at this price in a heartbeat.

These are made by Samick, who purchased the Silvertone name to directly sell their guitars in America instead of just building guitars for other manufacturers. The Epiphone SG Custom was manufactured by Samick for Epiphone/Gibson for a while. I saw one with exactly the same inspection sticker as my yard-sale Silvertone!

My unit is fairly beat up, but some touch up with a black Sharpie prettied it up quite a bit. I suspect that the switch was broken when the guitar did a face plant at some point. Buy a guitar stand if you order one of these. Despite all of this, the neck on mine was dead-straight after a slight adjustment of the truss rod.

I love mine. I'll bet you like yours once you get it set up correctly. I'm eyeing that SSLA-30 Blues Master (http://www.amazon.com/Silvertone-Master-Electric-Guitar-Transparent/dp/B000189YBW) as my next electric guitar.

I'm sold on Silvertone guitars.

Taylor Guitars TS-BT, Taylor Swift Baby Taylor, 3/4 Size Dreadnought, Solid Sitka Spruce Top, Saplele Back/Sides, Natural

Taylor Guitars TS-BT, Taylor Swift Baby Taylor, 3/4 Size Dreadnought, Solid Sitka Spruce Top, Saplele Back/Sides, Natural Review

I have several Taylor guitars, and have owned a Big Baby for several years. I own several travel guitars (including the Martin) and the Taylor is the only one that sounds like a real guitar. Another reviewer suggests her Taylor doesn't stay in tune, but also mentions it was damaged in transit. My Big Baby is used for Youth Group bible study and has sat out on a stand for years and I can say it rarely needs retuning unless it's played a lot and hard. Then again, I maintain a consistent relative humidity in my house. Bottom line, it's a quality though relatively inexpensive instrument. You're not going to find anything any better in this price range. Like any wood instrument it will be impacted by changes in temperature and humidity.

How small is it? Well, it's smallish, yet very playable. If the person playing it is on the smaller side it is a perfect size. Far better than trying to play my Taylor full-size dreadnought.

As far as the Swift commemorative design, that is a matter of taste. The regular Baby Taylor is a bit boring looking, as all of the effort was put into making a quality product as inexpensive as possible. I personally think the Swift looks nice. And if Swift's meteoric rise in popularity doesn't go to her head, this model may be desirable some day. I suspect a high-end Swift commemorative may follow.

Taylor Swift's Fearless Baby: The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor Guitar (TSBT)

Inspired by memories of writing songs on her Baby Taylor, country pop sensation Taylor Swift collaborated with Taylor Guitars to design a signature Baby Taylor model. The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT) features standard Baby Taylor specs, embellished by Swift's custom, screen-printed rosette design.

Taylor Swift: Singer, Songwriter, Actress, and Guitar Designer

Country-pop princess Taylor Swift unveils her signature Taylor Swift Taylor Baby (TSBT) guitar that's perfect for the singer-songwriters of tomorrow.

Taylor Swift designed the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT) Guitar because she wanted to share her passion for playing guitar with her fans.
All About the Taylor Swift Taylor Baby Guitar (TSBT)

At three-quarters the size of Taylor Guitar's standard dreadnought, and with a slim 1 11/16-inch neck and a comfortable, compact shape, the guitar is just right for both the littlest player’s hands and anyone who likes to pick up and play on the go. Like the original Baby Taylor, the TSBT is crafted from sapele laminate back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top.

The custom design is all Swift's, featuring her well-known expression "Love, Love, Love" among delicate vines that encircle the soundhole. To commemorate the songwriting spirit of her album, the guitar features the word "Fearless" along with Swift's signature inscribed above the bridge.

Taylor Swift Talks About the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT)

"I wanted to share my passion for playing guitar with my fans," Taylor Swift said.

"For a beginner, finding the right guitar can be intimidating, but this guitar, it's the perfect size. Even if you've been playing for years, it's a great size to travel with. I used to sit in the back seat of the rental car while I was on my radio tour at 16, writing songs on my Baby Taylor. I love the sound, and I love those memories."

The 19-year-old singer-songwriter, who has shared a close relationship with Taylor Guitars since she was just a precocious, aspiring preteen with very big dreams, has blossomed into one of music's most successful acts. Her sophomore album Fearless (whose release Swift celebrated at the Taylor Guitars factory last November) debuted on the Billboard Hot 200 at the top spot and has since gone on to sell over 4 million copies. Recently, she surpassed the 10 million mark for total albums sold and over 20 million paid downloads--more than any artist in country music history. Her headline tour this year included a recent sold-out show at New York's Madison Square Garden, where each song was accompanied by legions of singing and screaming fans, who at one point gave Swift a four-minute standing ovation.
