Cordoba "Custom Artist" CD/MR

Cordoba "Custom Artist" CD/MR Review

Cordoba "Custom Artist" CD/MR Overview

The all-new Custom Artist series from Cordoba generates huge sound and balanced tone by utilizing the body design concepts and techniques made famous by Miguel Rodriguez. Most notable is the deep body size that creates a larger sound chamber. This larger body, along with a five fan spruce bracing system with a treble enhancer, yields an optimal soundboard mass and stiffness for big rich basses, crystal clear trebles, and powerful volume and projection. Premium grade, quarter sawn, hand picked and aged Canadian cedar or European spruce tops further guarantee a quick and punchy response with great sustain up and down the neck. Also available with a cutaway and Fishman or BBand Electronics, the Cordoba Custom Artist series offers a variety of exotic woods, including Indian rosewood, figured maple and Madagascar rosewood, giving these instruments great looks to go along with the incredible quality of sound.A hardshell case is not included with this guitar. If one is not added separately to your order, GSI may contact you to discuss safe shipping options.

Cordoba Orchestra Pro CD/IN Classical Guitar Overview

The Cordoba Fusion Orchestra Pro CD/IN is the first full body guitar in the Fusion series. It features all solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, a lightweight Cedar neck, and an Ebony fingerboard and a solid Canadian Cedar top. The multiple ringed rosette is made of 100% natural woods and inlaid by hand, along with the Maple and Ebony purfling that outlines the soundboard. A light Mahogany binding accents the body shape of the Orchestra, which is slightly altered from a traditional nylon string guitar. The most notable characteristics of the Orchestra are the tone and feel. The thinner 1 7/8 inch neck is comfortable for any player, and the radiused fingerboard makes playability quick, comfortable, and easy. The tone is dark and punchy in the basses, with strong, round trebles and balanced mids. The Orchestra Pro comes equipped with a B-Band A 2.2, which has a volume control mounted on the inside edge of the sound hole.

Cordoba 55RCE Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar, CD/IN

Cordoba 55RCE Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar, CD/IN Review

I have owned this guitar for about 3 years and I am more impressed with it now than the first day I brought it home. I have a number of guitars and the only classical guitar I own that I think compares favorably is an Alvarez-Yairi CY 118. While the Yairi is a beautiful instrument in tone and workmanship, the value of it is that of a classical guitar which resonates throughout your body as you play it. On the other hand, the Cordoba 55RCE sounds wonderful but does not have quite the acoustical resonance of the Yairi. But, the Cordoba has an electronic piezo pickup system that makes the guitar come alive when played through a halfway decent amplifier. The Cordoba includes an electronic tuner and 3 band equalizer as well as a presence modifier with its electronic package. On the whole, the Cordoba is a well rounded instrument that you will enjoy playing with or without and amplifier for years.

As with any fine classical guitar, I would highly recommend that you play it before you buy it. All fine guitars are a little different. If it is not possible to play before delivery, make sure you can return it within a reasonable amount of time. This should not be a problem for the dealer. If it is, say goodbye and take your business elsewhere. The Cordoba 55RCE is made from some of the finest wood available in a time of scarcity of fine woods. But, even the best of woods do not guarantee long-term structural integrity. This is not a guitar to take to the beach and play along with your friends singing because significant changes in humidity will harm the wood and could cause cracking and/or warping. Since the Cordoba has an excellent warranty, please make sure that you take care of it in the prescribed way (to the extent practical) to preserve the value of the warranty, and more importantly to preserve the sound and beauty of the instrument. Even though it is covered by a warranty, you do not want to be without your guitar for any period of time that it takes to fix it properly. It takes a little extra time to care for your Cordoba, but it is worth it. Buying a Cordoba 55RCE is buying art that is functional as well. If you are lucky enough to acquire one of these fine instruments, I wish you luck and all the happiness that will come from your playing.
