Dean Humbuckers, Tune-o-Matic bridge.

"Dimebag Quad" sticker.

Dime It
The late great Dimebag Darrell is a serious metal guitar hero, and Dean's series of Dimebag models pays homage. Dimebag started playing Dean ML style guitars in the late '70s, and made it one of the most recognizable shapes today. Dean offers a wide variety of Dimebag MLs to choose from, all boasting Dimebag's distinctive look and tons of mojo and attitude.

Basswood Body
The DBD Tribute ML features a lightweight basswood body. Basswood is great for heavier rock and metal styles, delivering a nice even tone that feeds a dirt pedal (or a dimed Marshall) nicely.

The guitar is finished in a striking matte black finish, with a "Dimebag Quad" sticker on the body.

Bolt-On Construction
Bolt-on neck construction provides an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it.

The DBD Tribute's maple neck features an ultra-playable 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, with classic dot inlays.

Dean Humbucker Pickups
To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its standard humbuckers, in black-and-white "zebra" style for looks as good as the sounds. These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination. Each pickup gets a volume pot, and they share the tone control.

Grover Tuners
If you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard. These guitar machines are a triumph in engineering and style, with a gear ratio of 14:1, perfect gear meshing, and zero backlash and slippage. The gear box has a special lubricant for lifetime, trouble-free service.

Tune-o-Matic Bridge
A Tune-o-Matic bridge with string-thru body design provides even more sustain, along with precise intonation for your tuning preference. The classic v-shaped plate mirrors the headstock wings for some nice vintage Dean style.

DBD Traction Knobs
Dimebag always rocked his "traction knobs," which he created by taking a soldering iron to them, for knobs that are grippable no matter how much sweat's pouring off you on stage. Dean faithfully recreates that here.

Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus Electric Guitar, Iced Tea

Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus Electric Guitar, Iced Tea Feature

  • Weight-relieved Mahogany Body with Highly Figured Maple Top
  • 57 Classic Pickups
  • Vintage Gibson Speed Knobs
  • TonePros Kluson Vintage-style Tuners
  • Revolutionary PLEK System Set-up

Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus Electric Guitar, Iced Tea Overview

Introducing the Les Paul Traditional Plus Iced Tea from Gibson USA. With all the fat, sweet, snarling Les Paul tone that purists love, the Traditional plays, sounds, and weighs like the Les Pauls today’s players grew up loving and lusting after. Taking design and visual cues from the Les Pauls of the ’80s and '90s, the Les Paul Traditional starts with an un-chambered mahogany body with traditional weight-relief holes for a beefy tone that maintains the resonance of modern Les Pauls. The Traditional Plus also comes with a little extra — a beautifully figured Maple top reminiscent of the fabled tops of the Les Pauls from the late '50s and early '60s. Each Les Paul Traditional also comes with Gibson USA’s standard black snakeskin case.

Taylor Guitars 810ce Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar

Taylor Guitars 810ce Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar Review

Taylor Guitars 810ce Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar Feature

  • Solid Sitka Spruce Top
  • Solid Indian Rosewood Back/Sides
  • Dreadnought
  • Cutaway; ES
  • Hardshell Case Included

Taylor Guitars 810ce Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar Overview

One of the true icons of the Taylor line, the 810ce is irresistible with its figured maple binding. The Expression System pickup and Venetian cutaway complete this ultra-premium acoustic/electric guitar.

Features:
  • 6-String Dreadnought with Venetian cutaway
  • Sitka Spruce top
  • Indian Rosewood back, sides, and Headstock overlay
  • Ebony fingerboard and bridge
  • Tusq nut and saddle
  • Gold-plated Taylor Tuners
  • Adjustable truss rode
  • Strung with Elixir Medium Gauge Strings with NANOWEB Coating

Taylor's Dreadnought
The original Dreadnought acoustic guitar appeared early in the 20th Century, and its no-frills, no-nonsense shape made it a logical namesake of the huge battleships of that day. Most subsequent Dreadnoughts, including Taylor's, have been derivative of that early design. In 1997, however, Bob Taylor re-designed the Taylor Dreadnought by softening the curves at the top and bottom and generally refining its overall shape. In 2003, gloss-finish Dreadnoughts also underwent bracing refinements that substantially increased their overall volume and bass response, without sacrificing Taylor's signature balance and clarity. Dreadnought six-strings shine as "plectrum" or "rhythm" guitars because they respond well to flatpicking or light-to-heavy strumming.

Features an Abalone soundhole rosette and detailed pearl inlays.

Sitka Spruce top is joined with Indian Rosewood sides and back for a rich sound and appearance.

A Venetian cutaway in the Dreadnought body allows better access to the upper frets. In the past, many players moving to acoustic guitars grew accustomed to the cutaways on their electric guitars, while others simply like the freedom of movement into the upper register that a cutaway allows. Now, cutaways are favored as much for their decorative appeal as for their function.

A Strong Bass and Long Sustain
The top is made from Sitka Spruce, a dense, straight-grained wood that has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods. It's these attributes that make Sitka Spruce an ideal material not only for soundboards, but also for internal bracing. The Sitka top will produce a tone slightly brighter tone than Engelmann Spruce.

The back and sides of are made from Indian rosewood, which is coveted by players and guitar builders alike for its dark, luxurious coloration that ranges from brown to purple to rose to black. Indian rosewood has tonal characteristics that include a strong bass response and long sustain, and remains the most popular tonewood used in the making of high-quality acoustic guitars.

Pure Reproduction of An Acoustic Sound
In the past, Taylor had relied on after-market pickups that employed traditional piezo technology. But the result was a distorted tone that failed to capture the natural acoustic richness and dynamics of a Taylor for live performance. After several years of research, Taylor designed their own groundbreaking pickup system that uses magnetics much like a microphone. The result is an exceptionally pure reproduction of an acoustic guitars natural sound. The Taylor Expression System delivers an amplified tone that will satisfy the most demanding pro player, yet makes it simple for anyone to plug in and sound great.

The Taylor Expression System gives you a natural acoustic sound.

The Expression System incorporates three different magnetic sensors. Two strategically placed Dynamic Body Sensors affixed to the underside of the soundboard capture the complex nuances of the tops vibration, while a Dynamic String Sensor mounted beneath the fretboard extension registers string and neck vibration. The preamp boosts the pickup signal cleanly, without the need for artificial EQ "coloration." The balanced, low-impedance signal the Expression System produces can run direct into a mixer or PA in most situations, and is free of distortion at almost any volume.

Three simple, unintrusive onboard control knobs preserve the aesthetic beauty of your Taylor, yet allow you to easily adjust the volume, bass, and treble to suit your personal preferences and performance environment. When set flat, the tone controls add no color and produce the most natural sound. Or, add bass or treble (or subtract) to adjust for the room or personal tastes. The payoff is in the purity of high-fidelity amplified tone, unprecedented dynamic range, and extraordinary resistance to feedback and distortion. It enables all of the expressive subtleties of your playing to come through, just the way you intended.

Construction
Taylor takes pride in using the finest quality woods for their guitars, like ebony for every fretboard they make. The tone woods for the 810ce were quartersawn and carefully book-matched before being sorted, dried, and prepared by Bob Taylor and his experienced team of luthiers. The 810ces delicate inlay and binding work was also done by hand, providing care and "touch" that no machine can give. Taylor believes that precision matters, which is why they rely on laser cutters and computer-aided milling machines to consistently hit minute tolerances that were impossible a decade ago.

Balance and Bracing
A balanced tone is critical to a quality recorded sound. Guitars that are too heavily weighted towards a particular end of the tonal spectrum (too "bassy," for example) tend to be tougher to record. While the Dreadnought shape has more volume or bass than other shapes, the overall balance on the 810ce is not compromised.

Most Dreadnought players prefer a flatpicking, heavy-strumming guitar, able to put out some serious volume and beefy bass frequencies. Dreads have more bracing mass, so they shine as "plectrum" or "rhythm" guitars. Revoicing in 2003 (500 Series and up) created a completely new Taylor Dreadnought: one that is louder, with deeper bass frequencies, yet manages to maintain the clarity and balance of the trademark Taylor tone.

The fretboard is adorned with the Pearl 800 series inlays.

Straight Necks Matter
Don't all guitars have straight necks? The answer is usually yes, but the real question is will they stay that way? Since its inception, the acoustic guitar had a major design flaw. The fretboard lacked sufficient support to remain truly straight because of top movement caused by changes in humidity. All guitars experience this phenomenon--often resulting in a slight bump at the 14th fret--but not all guitars respond to it in the same way.

Introduced in 1999 and a standard feature since 2001, the patented New Technology (NT) neck was designed by Bob Taylor and his team to accomplish the primary goal of building a straighter, more stable guitar neck. While some necks may bend in the face of humidity and other factors, the NT Neck stays stable and straight.

Adjustability is another major NT advantage. Since the NT Neck angle is created by spacers and requires no glue, adjustment simply requires a repairperson with a new set of spacers and about five spare minutes. Altering the neck angle of a traditional neck assembly could require invasive surgery to remove wood and relocate the bridge.

The bottom line: The NT Neck on the 810ce means a stable, easy-to-adjust neck that stands up to the pressures all acoustic guitars face.

Tuners
Precise, gleaming tuners add appealing form to an important function, while the type of strings used can alter the feel and the tone of your guitar. Taylor pays careful attention to both, using tuners and strings that are optimized for the 810ce guitar. Together, they are among the keys to an easy-playing, incredible-sounding Taylor.

Blackstar Venue Series HT Stage HT-60 60W Tube Guitar Combo Amp, Black Overview

The Blackstar HT Stage 60's selected duet of EL34s deliver 60W of glorious tube power through two high-quality Celestion speakers, making for a combo that will deliver every night, even in the most testing live environment. The Blackstar amp's 'boutique' style clean channel is extremely versatile with two modes: 'British Class-A' and 'dynamic US'. Each of the amplifier's two ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) equipped overdrive channels allows a further two modes. The Clean Channel on the Blackstar HT-60 combo has two modes, 'boutique' and 'modern' and its own Tone control provides a wide range of clean tones. The Voice switch reconfigures both the preamplifier voicing and gain structure, and the power amplifier damping, to reproduce either ringing Class A Performance in the 'boutique' mode, or very clean and tight Class AB tones in the 'modern' setting. The Overdrive Channel has its own EQ section and a Voice switch that allows the character of the channel to be changed, providing a wide variety of overdriven tones. The channel is characterized by a tone that's high in gain, but lacks any of the detached top-end 'fizz' often found in similar designs. This is a result of the Blackstar HT-60 guitar amp's unique preamplifier and power amplifier shaping techniques, which cleans up the overdrive beautifully as the guitar volume is reduced. Even at the most extreme settings, the overdrive channel on the Blackstar Venue HT-60 amplifier remains natural sounding. The ISF control is unique to Blackstar Amplification and represents a major step forward in tone shaping flexibility. The ISF control shifts the response of the three-control tone stack between a US-type response at one end, and at the other a UK-type response. The Blackstar tube amp provides an infinite number of alternative tone choices in between the two extremes that would be otherwise unavailable. The Blackstar HT-60 guitar amp also features a completely natural sounding digital reverb, which is outstandingly musical o

Godin Freeway Classic Electric Guitar (Black Pearl RN) Overview

Solid Body Electric Guitar

Godin Freeway Classic Electric Guitar (Black Pearl RN) Specifications

Take the Freeway and you're bound to get there fast. Godin's Freeway Classic features their usual boutique looks and build quality, but in a no-frills, affordable axe. Get a wealth of tones with the humbucker-single-humbucker pickup configuration and five-way switch, and peace of mind with solid Godin hardware appointments like a tremolo bridge.

Godin Freeway Classic

Make Mine a Double

The Freeway Classic is the first double cutaway design by Godin in several years. In spite of the tremendous success of the single cutaway design featured throughout the Godin line, there has always been a contingent of hard-core, double-cutaway enthusiasts encouraging Godin to do something for them. With that in mind, Godin went to work on the Freeway Classic. The basic formula is classic Godin: versatile, blues/rock gigging machine with "boutique guitar" build-quality at a blue-collar price.

Godin Freeway Classic Pickup
Godin humbucker/single-coil/humbucker pickup configuration with five-way switch for a wealth of tonal options.
Godin Freeway Classic Headstock
Dependable Godin hardware completes the package.
Maple/Poplar Body

The Freeway's body consists of a center block of silver-leaf maple with light poplar wings. Silver-leaf maple is an excellent tone wood with a weight and density similar to mahogany. The warm tone of the silver-leaf provides a perfect compliment to the rock maple neck. To ensure you get the most from this potent combination, each neck and body are joined with a perfect wood-to-wood connection--free of paint or glue--that delivers maximum neck/body energy transfer. The sound of the silver-leaf maple comes at a price--it's heavy! To balance the guitar and achieve a comfortable weight the silver leaf core is flanked with light poplar wings. This ultimately produces a comfortably light guitar with "heavy guitar" resonance.

Rock Maple Neck

Godin's rock maple necks are known throughout the guitar industry for outstanding feel and boundless sustain. The 25-1/2" scale neck on the Freeway features Godin's ergo-cut shape and medium jumbo frets. Neck stability is insured by a double-action truss system capable of adding and removing relief in the neck.

Godin-Designed Pickups

The Godin humbucker-single-humbucker pickup configuration makes the most of excellent acoustic response of the Freeway. A double 5-way switch along with volume and tone controls supports the pickups, so you can dial in any number of tones you're after.

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Wine Red, Chrome Hardware Overview

Introduced nearly 25 years ago as a guitar for the studio musician, the Les Paul Studio has become one of the most desired Les Pauls for its tremendous harmonic and sonic capacities, coveted by musicians from all genres of music.

Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Wine Red, Chrome Hardware Specifications

Gibson's Les Paul Studio offers traditional Les Paul performance with a modern, no-frills attitude. Introduced as a guitar mainly for studio musicians, the Les Paul Studio has become one of the most desired--and popular--Les Pauls for its tremendous harmonic and sonic qualities. All of the essential elements of a Les Paul Standard are there, including a carved maple top, solid mahogany back and genuine Gibson humbucker pickups. What the Les Paul Studio lacks in extras, it makes up for in performance. Ask any one of the thousands of musicians who call it their No. 1 axe.

Traditional Les Paul Performance Meets Modern Tone and Playability

Available Finishes
Take your pick between four gorgeous finishes--Ebony, Wine Red, Classic White and Fireburst--all of which are applied by hand in a process that demands several coats and many hours. Unlike a lot of our competitors, who settle for a polyurethane finish, Gibson opts for a nitrocellulose finish that will encourage the natural vibration of the instrument for a purer tone. In addition, a nitro finish is very porous and actually gets thinner over time. That way your guitar's wood can breathe and age beautifully, like it's supposed to.

Fast & Comfortable Rounded Neck Profile
Gibson's traditional rounded neck profile, which graces the neck of each Les Paul Studio, is a thicker, rounder profile, emulating the neck shapes of the iconic Les Paul Standards of the late 1950s. Each neck is machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. But once the fingerboard gets glued on, the rest--including the final sanding--is done by hand. That means each neck ends up with ever-so-subtle differences that make each one as exceptional--and unique--as the next.

A thicker, rounder neck profile emulates the neck shapes of the iconic Les Paul Standards of the late 1950s.

Gibson pickups crank out modern tone with a vintage edge.

Gibson's 490R and 498T Pickups
The mid to late 1960s saw the emergence of a very different type of music coming from the clubs of England. This new genre's players were demanding more powerful amplifiers with increased volume outputs to satisfy their sonic explorations. This led to a call for a more versatile pickup, and Gibson answered the call with the 490T and 490R pickups ("T" for treble, and "R" for rhythm), humbuckers with the tonal characteristics of an original PAF, but with a slight increase in upper mid-range response. The Gibson 498T bridge pickup is the 490's ideal complement. Taking the 490 one step further, the 498 swaps the Alnico II magnet to an Alnico V, thus making it slightly hotter with emphasis on mid-ranges and highs. The pole pieces on the 498T are also aligned a little further apart to accommodate the spacing of the strings at the bridge, which is different than the spacing of the strings at the neck.

Mahogany Back and Maple Top
There isn't anything more critical than the marriage of the Les Paul's mahogany back with a maple cap, as well as the regimen involved in selecting the right wood and the formula to dry it out. First, the wood is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled wood experts before it enters the Gibson factories. These onsite inspectors also ensure that the plain maple comes from corporations adhering to the forest-saving standards of the Rainforest Alliance, of which Gibson is a proud member and sponsor. Inside the Gibson factories, humidity is maintained at 45 percent, and the temperature at 70 degrees. This ensures all woods are dried to a level of "equilibrium," where the moisture content does not change during the manufacturing process. This guarantees tight-fitting joints and no expansion, and controls the shrinkage and warping of the woods, in addition to reducing the weight. It also improves the woods' machinability and finishing properties, and adherence to glue. Consistent moisture content means that a Gibson guitar will respond evenly to temperature and humidity changes long after it leaves the factory.

Chambered Body
There's something about playing a guitar with perfect tone, balance, and weight. One of the ways the expert craftsmen at Gibson USA achieve this equilibrium is by carving carefully mapped-out chambers in the Les Paul's solid mahogany back using a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) router before the maple top is glued on. The positioning of the routes was established after careful examination of the resonant characteristics of the Les Paul. Gibson approached this process with the awareness that every change to the formula would have repercussions on the instrument's sound. So, in addition to relieving the stress on a player's back and shoulder, these lighter Gibson guitars also enhance the tone palette in a manner unique only to these guitars. The results are comfortable, lightweight guitars that are acoustically louder, with increased sustain and resonance.

Ebony or Rosewood Fingerboard
The fingerboards on Gibson's Les Paul Studios are constructed from the highest grade rosewood and ebony on the planet. Both are personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled wood experts before they enter the factories to be fitted onto the neck of the Les Paul Studio. The resilience of these dense and durable woods makes these fingerboards extremely balanced and stable, and gives each chord and note unparalleled clarity and bite. The 12-inch radius of the fingerboard provides smooth note bending capabilities and eliminates "dead" or "choked out" notes. The ebony fingerboard is only available on the Classic White Les Paul Studio, and the rosewood fingerboard is available on the Ebony, Wine Red, and Fireburst models.

Tune-O-Matic Bridge
The Tune-o-matic bridge was the brainchild of legendary Gibson president Ted McCarty in 1954. At the time, it was a true revelation in intonation, and set a standard for simplicity and functionality that has never been bettered. This pioneering piece of hardware provides a firm seating for the strings, allowing the player to adjust and fine-tune the intonation and string height in a matter of minutes. It also yields a great union between the strings and body, which results in excellent tone and sustain. It is combined with a separate "stopbar" tailpiece, essentially a modified version of the earlier wraparound bridge. To this day, the Tune-o-matic remains the industry standard. It is the epitome of form and function in electric guitar bridge design, and is one of the most revered and copied pieces of guitar hardware ever developed.
